Green Meadows Preserve
The 112-acre park is located on the northwest corner of Dallas Highway and Old Hamilton Road, diagonally across from The Avenue West Cobb. Green Meadows Preserve offers quiet woodlands and meadows ideal for walking, picnics, kite flying, as well as exploring plants, birds, and flowers.

Features of the preserve include a historical garden around the Civil War Era house, Native American Garden with medicinal plants and herbs, a community garden with garden plots for lease to the public, and forty bluebird houses are featured along a 2.3 mile bluebird trail. Bluebird walks are hosted by the Friends of Green Meadows. Over two-hundred baby Eastern Bluebirds successfully fledged during the 2025 nesting season March through August! To date, the Bluebird Project at Green Meadows has successfully fledged several thousand Eastern Bluebirds.
More than 135 species of birds have been documented at Green Meadows Preserve.

Common birds you may find at Green Meadows Preserve year-round include: Northern Mockingbird, Brown Thrasher, Gray Catbird, White-breasted and Brown-headed Nuthatch, Tufted Titmouse, Carolina Chickadee, Killdeer, Eastern Phoebe, and Blue Jay.
Each winter, watch Sandhill Cranes fly overhead, Yellow-rumped and Palm Warblers flitting around in the shrubbery or on the ground, and for sparrows as they feed on seeds.
In the breeding season, the preserve is home to Chimney Swift, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Eastern Kingbird, White-eyed and Red-eyed Vireo, Scarlet Tanager, Indigo Bunting, and Blue Grosbeak.
