The Songbird Habitat Trail at Stone Mountain features a 2-mile loop through the beautiful South Woods. Songbirds often prefer habitats with trees and shrubs for nesting and foraging. Expect the trail to pass through areas rich in vegetation, including forests, woodlands, and edges of meadows, which provide ideal habitats for these birds. Depending on the time of year, you might witness some bird species engaged in nesting activities. Look for nests carefully built within tree branches, shrubs, or cavities, and observe the parents as they care for their young. Bring a pair of binoculars to enhance your birding experience and to get a closer look at the different species you encounter. Look for dedicated birdwatching spots and benches that provide better vantage points for observing the birds.

Only minutes from downtown Atlanta, explore our breathtaking natural and historical areas year-round. Add on to your fun and experience our seasonal family-friendly park attractions, festivals, and special events.
